What we do
The work of CHATI (registered in England & Wales in late 2005 Charity No. 1111621) is mainly to raise funds and awareness and other support for its implementing partner trust in India (registered in India in early 2006). The objectives are consolidated within our Trust Deed.
Together we promote sustainable organic farming and a healthy sustainable life-style, in a deeply rural area in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India.
We have a rented office cum dispensary in the village of Vadagarampoondi in the district of Cuddalore - where free homoeopathy and Siddha clinics are held. Over the river, in the district of Perambalur, we own nearly 8 acres of previously neglected land. Here we are establishing a model farm to demonstrate low-input agriculture, involving the local farming community.
From time to time outreach support is given to farmers trying different ideas, and like-wise homoeopathy camps and health-related projects are held in other villages. This outreach work will expand when there is funding for field staff.
